You want to make big power itβs boost or ls1/2/3 v8. The engines in the e36 will go 2,3,4 hundred thousand miles with maintenance and are well documented for repairs and issues.
A newer car would be more economical, faster, more reliable and safer but I remember being 17 so I know you probably don't give a shit about any of that and just want an E36 cause you think it's cool (and maybe you want to do some skids in a supermarket car park).
